Prince almost done

It took a while to finish him up but it looks like that my take on a Daemon Prince is about to get done. The base is scratch built by myself and there is a couple of pictures of the progression on my Instagram. Feel free to check them out!

Two squads of Plague Marines

I have now reached the point where I am ready to start up the painting process of my Plague Marines – yey! They still lack their shoulder pads and the two Plague Champions haven’t got their weapons yet, but I will sort that out later. The pads aren’t going to have the same colour as the rest of the armour anyway and the weapons should be easy to match with the rest of the models once they arrive from Anvil Industry. By the way, Anvil Industry have some pretty cool bitz – and more – and I recommend you to pay them a visit at https://anvilindustry.co.uk/.

Homeworld Barbarus

“There was one who came to rest on a bleak moor, strewn with the dead and scattered with the carnage of battle for leagues in every direction. This was the world of Barbarus. A planet perpetually shrouded in poisonous fog, whose mountainous crags were ruled by warlords with fantastic powers and horrific appetites, and whose human settlers, stranded there millennia before, were crowded into the lowest valleys, beneath the choking mists. They lived lives of unrelenting terror, eking out a peasant’s existence by day beneath a dim sun which never burned completely through the fog, and cowering by firelight after dark from the terrible beings which moved unseen above.”

First Blood

Like most hobbyists know using sharp knives tend to lead into small – but nasty – cuts every now and then. Tonight I draw first blood scratching off mold lines from my upcoming Plague Marines.

Back in 1977 Marvel Comics published a special KISS comic in full colour, presenting the band as superheroes. Blood from each band member was drawn by a nurse and poured into the vats of red ink. That ink was then used in the print of said comic.

Should I do the same? I could poor a little of my blood into the paint I am going to use to paint the red eyes. Well, I probably should not. But you have to agree with that it would be pretty cool?

I admit progress has been somewhat slow but the two squads should be modelled in a day or so, not counting the shoulder pads which have yet to arrive.

Typhus the Traveller

“Look upon me and know that I can slay you at will. You have no defence save one: to look into the darkness at the back of your own mind. There, you will find Father Nurgle waiting to offer you life in return for your submission. Deny him, and you are mine.”

— Typhus the Traveller, Herald of Nurgle

New list with zombies

Time has come for me to dust off the old paints and brushes. A friend of mine talked me into getting back to the hobby, and to be honest I have missed it.

As always I had trouble with deciding what force to go with but the Lord of Decay surely calls for me. I’ve decided to go with some kind of a zombie-list, backed up by a couple of fellows wearing power armour. Let us hope it turns out fun to play with, and against. I would love to win a couple of games but I am not very into the whole cookie cutting business.

For the minis I am currently looking for zombies. I am thinking of going Imperial Guard (or whatever they are called these days?) mixed up with some undead bitz. Not very unique, I guess, but they look good and make sense fluffwize. The marines will likely be kit bashed out of parts from Death Guard as well as other sources. I love the idea of robes so I will have to look that up. The HQ will come out of the Calas Typhon figure.

Wish me luck and come back later for further updates. Please leave your comments and thoughts bellow.

Typhus

Typhus is the most feared of all the Plague Fleet commanders. From his ancient warship, the Terminus Est, Typhus has led countless attacks against the Imperium, spreading contagion and misery on scores of worlds.
